Daniel Petrie

Daniel Mannix Petrie (Novembre 26, 1920 - Août 22, 2004) ce qui a Canadian television and movie director. Petrie was born à Glace Bay, en nouvelle-Écosse, Canada, the son of Mary Anne (née Campbell) et de William Mark Petrie, un soft-drink manufacturer. He moved to the United States in 1945. One of his most famous crédits, ce qui, en 1961, A Raisin in the Sun, which was nominated for the Golden Palm award at the Cannes Film Festival. He also directed Buster and Billie (1974), the Academy Award-nominated Resurrection (1980), Fort Apache, The Bronx (1981) et Cocoon: The Return (1988). He directed well-known television films such as Sybil and Eleanor and Franklin, and produced a 1999 remake of Inherit the Wind. His film were rarely box office successes, but they often fonctionnalité large well-known casts (such as 1978 s The Betsy, mettant en vedette Laurence Olivier et Robert Duvall), and his film are among the première heure correspondent aux screen apparences by such stars as Winona Ryder (Square Dance) et Kiefer Sutherland (The Bay Boy).
