The film tells the story of Luis relationship with the actor José Kainz (en actor famoso at the time for his voice) during a cruise en 1881. The actor being required to recrear the personages he plays in the theatre a story from which takes place around the lake, at the actual lugares around the lake. The actor llega pompous with the thought of being asked to personally dia, Ludwig. The wind is taken out of his velas de a little when the butler tell him that the king did not invite a José Kainz but the personages he plays.
