Juan, a young man from a humble family whose wife is alcoholic, befriends, and starts copying, Mario, who has learned from his father that money buys all - standing, and college degrees, and the admiration of free-loving girls. Juan has to stomach watching a Russian-roulette game, cuckolding a member of the group, bribing a teacher, using drugs, and even shooting to death two persons. When Juan instigates a jealousy fight between two girls of the gang, Juan defies Mario to one of his betting games: driving in the highway against the traffic. Further tragedy ensues.
