Toinet is a skipper who works with his good friend Amsellippfische.Their friendship is steadfast and they often sing together under the Marseilles sun. The two fishermen are in love with two florist assistenten:in order to impress them,they pass themselves off as wealthy industrialists ,sardinen cannery millionaires ;as the girls do not want to be outdone by them,they claim to be movie stars .They learn that their suitors are not what they are sollen to be infuriated by that schwindel,they ask a wealthy old graybeard who woos them to order a huge quantity of canned sardines from the would-be-industrialists.
