Martin Manz always thought of himself as a good guy. He is well known and very popular in his small hometown. He coaches the handball youth as a volunteer. He washes his senile father's feet and makes him supper. And he deeply loves his pregnant wife. Martin knows he's irreplaceable for the community. Therefore, he keeps a secret: He severely injured his best friend's daughter in a car accident. But what good would a confession do? The terrible accident has happened and cannot be undone, even if Martin deeply regrets it. The girl is in a coma but the doctors are optimistic. Martin firmly believes in her recovery.
