Lingui, the Sacred Bonds (2021)
Am Rande der Hauptstadt des Tschad arbeitet die entschlossene alleinerziehende Mutter Amina unermüdlich, um für sich und ihre 15-jährige Tochter Maria zu sorgen. Als Amina feststellt, dass Maria schwanger ist und kein Kind will, suchen die beiden Frauen nach einer Abtreibung, die sowohl von der Religion als auch vom Gesetz verurteilt wird. Dabei entwickeln Mutter und Tochter eine Verbindung, die stärker ist als alles, was sie je erlebt haben.
