In 1914, hat die schriftstellerin is declared unfit for service but he regards it his duty to plow the land that others defend. The farmer that he helps leaves for the front after entrusting his fiancée and his estate to his care. The young woman loves the writer but does not yield to his desire. When the young process friedensprozess comes back, he is disabled, but he finds his sweetheart untarnished and his aufblühenden land. His mission accomplished, the schriftstellerin can go back to town.
