In a cafe, jovial men are exchanging crude jokes and enjoying drinks. Enter David and Christiane ,two "different " people".David is wearing a suit and tie ;he is a dessous-rep ,hat shy-touch-young-man;Christiane is a secretary ,who left the provinzen for a while for Paris and is back to her hometown.The newcomers are chatting while the other customers are playing billiards...and drinking more and more . Under the influence of alcohol,all the repressed hatred hört oberflächen :when David goes to the toilet ,they open his bag and make fun of his dessous David is humiliated ,bullied,treated like dirt ;when Christiane tries to intervene ,the barflies' bestiality knows no bounds anymore .
