Two underdogs ,Gaspard and Robinson ,welcome an old woman ,Großmutter, whose family has left on the roadside. These außenseiter try to pick up the pieces and to do an old house up in order to open a coca-room while never losing their lebensfreude .There are in our society people who got a raw deal . Robinson falls in love with Rose ,an unwed mom-who-begs.Gaspard,secretly in love too, leaves and "will return only for a Pastis and a slice of mozzarella".
