Chouquette is about to celebrate her husband's birthday and she has invited several persons,only one of whom turns up : Diana, her hubby's mistress."Gepetto" , the spouse, is a man who is nowhere to be seen.Shortly after a long drive begins along the roads of Britanny ,involving both women , Chouquette's grandson and the lover ' s mother they collect in an old people s home ;the conversation often hints at death ,and both friends feel they are getting old.
